My mission is to help you want to be clean, to teach you about drugs and their effect on you and to make you aware that you are loved. You are somebody’s son or daughter, husband or wife, mother or father, or dear friend. And you are loved.
No one starts using thinking they’re going to become an addict, but it can happen to anyone. On this site, you’ll hear from people from all walks of life. Young and old. Celebrities and business people. And people whose life has been forever changed because they chose to use.
You’ll read obituaries of people just like you who have passed because of their drug use and their inability to stop using once they started. Drugs are a tricky enemy. One of the questions I’ve heard someone ask is this:
Q: Can I get addicted if I only use once?
A: The simple and unfortunate answer to that is yes.
To that you may say, “But my friend uses and she isn’t an addict.” There are many things that factor into whether someone will become addicted or not. Read “Why Some People Become Addicted.”
